An absolutely stunning Art Nouveau Acid Etched Sterling Silver Hand Mirror with an Acanthus Floral Leaf pattern surrounding the Lion. The lovely artwork looks as if it may have been inspired and designed to depict the Lion of Judah unrolling scrolls that are referred to in Revelations 5:1-14 "THE LION IS THE LAMB". Can't say that for sure but a very impressive artwork design is incorporated here. It has two period correct letters that looks like a "G B" monogram in the center of the unraveling scroll. The mirror measures approx. 10.25" long x 5.5" at its widest point and is a very thick solid sterling silver piece weighing 14 ounces. The mirror has been left as found and not polished so it retains that beautiful vintage silver patina in the crisp and highly detailed design which only comes with age and definitely adds to the character. I NEVER BUFF OR USE MACHINE POLISHING. As with all pre-owned sterling items a final cleaning is left up to the buyer. CONDITION: This may be one of the finest antique sterling hand mirrors I've come across. The ornate acanthus leaf and lion design face of mirror and handle are free of any major dings or dents.

As with all pre-owned sterling items a final cleaning is left up to the buyer. It is stamped STERLING "MF" at top of handle however I could not determine whose hallmark those initials belong to.
CONDITION: This may be one of the finest antique sterling hand mirrors I've come across.

a few VERY SMALL
"dints" on the outer edges of the mirror the largest (maybe size of a small pea) shown in last picture. This is obviously pretty common and w
ould be expected for a piece of this age
but overall for a 100+ year old piece it is in fantastic condition and an amazing work of art for display or use. The mirror glass is in tight and th
ere is a slight rattle of loose cement material inside but doesn't affect it's use or display.
