Description
This is an authentic late 1800s-early 1900s art nouveau period piece beveled hand mirror that was likely once a part of a vanity or dresser set. It is quadruple silver plate and has a raised relief of a beautiful Gibson girl era lady with outstretched arms and flowing hair. It has a floral motif and a nice beveled mirror. It measures about 10" long and 6" wide. In my research of identical mirrors, this one most likely had a mark for Victor Silver Pat. 1905 but that was located on the side of the handle and has since worn off from use. If you run your fingers over that area, you can feel the imprint of the lettering but it is not readable.
There is a monogram that has been partially removed through years of polishing. It appears to be the name
Ileen
The piece is In good antique condition, it does show wear including a small dent on the handle, surface scratches, and wear to the silver plating. It's still pretty spectacular and would look great in a collection or on its own. It is all original and the mirror itself shows minimal loss and aging to the mirror.
